Head meets Corner of Kitchen Island

Shortly after learning to walk, Christian and Nicholas discovered the idea of racing around the kitchen island. Since this happened, we now have a house rule: "No running around the island...you can only ride cars around the island." I still have to send them to timeout for this one.

We did make a trip to the ER for this one. We were only there a couple of hours (thankfully). The wound never bled out. He had a nice bump on his head and we only went to the ER because he started making "crazy face" after having this happen. Doc said he was fine...watch him...etc.

He's still with us today, so he was fine. :)

Visit to Grandma's

We took our annual (bi-annual?) jaunt to visit Grandma's house in June. This was lots of fun. We took the boys to the zoo and went swimming in Grandma's pool.
One of our rare family pictures (even more rare that we all looked into the camera).

Christian LOVED this rocking chair. He would get up and down from it several times an hour while we were there. Mom took quite a few photos before getting this really cute one.

The boys both loved playing with the dogs. Here is Nicholas with Millie.

These last three are zoo pictures. The last one is of Nicholas petting a goat. Very cool (and stinky)!

San Antonio Spanish Missions Trip

This past summer, Ed and I took his parents to the San Antonio Spanish Missions for their anniversary. It was also Ed's and my anniversary as well. The trip was nice and the missions were beautiful. We had a full day and got quite tired from all the walking, but it was well worth it.

Rough-Housing with Daddy

The boys LOVE when they get the chance to play with Daddy! Rough-housing is one of those Daddy-specific things that Mommys just don't do as well. Here they are in action.

May 1, 2008 Ear Surgery

This was a big day for Christian this year. After struggling with constant ear infections for months, we had him admitted for surgery on May 1. The doctor at the medical center was awesome and Christian did wonderfully. Here are some after-photos taken hours after we got home. This just proves he takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'!
Here he has his cotton ball from his ear out...he hated them. We had to do drops and cotton balls for several days after surgery. The cotton didn't stay in long, but it only needed to stay in to keep the yuck from draining everywhere and to keep the medicine drops in.
I am sorry about the lighting through part of this video. Amazing what turning on a light in the house does!

Ranching Heritage Center

The Ranching Heritage Center is a wonderful place to go for the kids. They have their Ranching Heritage Day each year where the boys get to make various crafts and see people dress in the old "wild west" garb. Last year Nicholas got to write with a feather and ink on paper. They have a lot of fun and it is completely free. We also did Halloween out there this past year and liked that they give out "old timey" candy. Pretty neat!!!
